Well I coudn't wait anymore. They have been releasing water, website said it was too murky and high but I went anyway. Turns out it wasn't that bad and I managed my first two fish on the new rod. Funny thing is I had this old fly sitting in my room for a couple years and I grabbed it before leaving thinking it would be a good water mover for the murky conditions. Got 2 in about 2 hours and I'm glad I made the short drive from downtown! Picture is of the first one ever on the new rod.

Was tough wading but it was worth it. Looks low and clear for this afternoon but I can't go... Saturday is a possibility, I might go hybrid fishing on Varner though. Wilber what do you think?

Fished right above the 41 bridge this afternoon from about 5 to 630. Caught my first two rainbows, both about 12-14", on an olive woolly booger. Most fun a 14" fish could ever be...

Gone But Not Forgotten
My BIL and I floated from Johnsons Ferry to Powers this morning. We caught a dozen nice fish (all rainbows) on black woolly buggers. I know this report is weak without photos, but I ran off without the camera.:D

Sorry I missed your call. I caught 7 at my usual spot yesterday on black wooly bugger and caught a pretty nice fish on a y2k. Also managed a brown on a BWO right at sunset. I may got tonight for a couple hours.
