Plowed Fields

The neighboring landowners plowed up their giant pasture...I have never seen how turkey react to plowed fields.

My question is, Do turkey like a plowed field or a grassy field better?

Often i've only been able to hunt plowed fields because of the time frame that the crops were planted and harvested and had great success there in both morning and afternoons. They like grassy plots for bugs and seeds and such too. I'm not sure which one a turkey would go to first if there were two side by side.

I just plowed today around our food plots. We do this every year right before the season and the turkeys seem to love it.

I got a spot that is all nice sandy soil and the guy hardly plows it and the birds love to mid day dust there. My second hot spot is a cattle farm and the farmer Plows the clay sillage. I mean cuts a good 14-18" deep. I loose hens in the ruts every year. THey seem to hit it every morning and just peck stuff along the way.

If it has nut grass in it they'll be there hot and heavy.

Killed many in plowed fields. The birds will still peck around in 'em and they make great dusting areas.
