Dumb but new to turkey hunting

I live in northern hall county I have tried my hand at turkey hunting before with no luck I have the calls and the gun. I have tried to locate birds behind my house but have not had a noise yet. Do you think there could be birds that will not even shock gobble. I really want to get one before april 10 I leave for trooper school that day.

Turkey hunting is not easy...but it is fun. I think there are birds that won't gobble. Gobbling will get you killed. Stick with it, maybe find an experienced hunter that can help you out or try a guided hunt. Good luck at trooper school.

More than likely if you don't hear any gobbling, there ain't no turkeys hanging out there. That being said, you may still have some turkeys passing thru and feeding. Check for sign like scratchings, and dusting areas.
