i took the fly rod out today and used a poppin' bug to catch this eatin' mess. the commander was tossed about in the 25 mph winds but i still had a good day. i am gonna have to try the flyrod again , it lit a new fire today !!!

That's some of my favorite fishing right there,however I haven't had a chance to try it in my yak.....yet.

Suprised you didn't get any piercings fishing in that wind. I rode by the lake during lunch today and seen the white caps out there and decided not to go. But with no risk there is no rewards, congrats on the catch!

Awesome! After I upgrade all my conventional tackle, the next setup i'm getting is a little 3-4wt for that exactly!

i hear ya ! that is a real light 5 wt with an 8.5 ' rod but my hope one day is to get a matching 3 wt with a 7' rod. that would be a hoot !!!
