View Full Version : If He hung out with you today....

You know this probably goes without saying but for some reason I was thinking, what if Jesus hung out with me on my typical day. Yesterday, today, tomorrow, whatever. Would I do anything different? Would I speak to people (family, friends and strangers) the same way? Would I spend my time doing the same things? Would I have the same program airing on my radio or showing on my television set in my home?
Far far far from perfect but I sure am trying to make the answers to those type questions 'yes', more often and not less.

Guess what; He's looking right over your shoulder right now.

We all know that He is looking over our shoulders but there is not a one of us that would not do the day differently if He was in the flesh beside you.

We all know that He is looking over our shoulders but there is not a one of us that would not do the day differently if He was in the flesh beside you.Exactly. But what I'm saying is, are we more likely to NOT be embarassed if he was here in the flesh today than yesterday? Yes we all KNOW of his omnipresence but do we attempt, at all, to act like we KNOW it?
A recently deleted thread I guess accentuates the point.
We know of his presence yet we ignore it.
The old "Spirit is willing...." thing I guess. Like I said, equally guilty but trying...

I know what you meant Phil, and my point is what Randy alludes to. How would we act if He were standing with us in the flesh? How should we act? We should act no different if we were living for Christ each and every day. But, let's be honest; we are fallible, we make mistakes, we do things He doesn't like. The apostles made mistakes while Jesus stood right beside them. Even if Jesus was standing right beside me in the flesh, I would still make mistakes, maybe not as many as I normally do. I would dang sure be more conscious of what I said or did in His physical presence. But, you all know the fallacy with that.

Thank the Lord we as Christians have the avenue to go to Him and ask forgiveness. For we all know there was only one perfect.

I will stick my neck out here and say most of us prolly act and do things differently when we are just around our bretheren. That is why we should seperate ourselves from the world and be that shinning light.

I will be the first to admit I'm work in progress and when I'm around non-christians I find it very easy to slip with the tongue or say something that maybe I shouldn't. Trust me I don't make a habit of it and I try to be that shinning light. I'm just saying it's alot easier to be rightous in good company than in bad. So I try to stay in good company and pray for forgiveness when I fall short.
