Dec 24, 2011 #6 koakid Senior Member the wood on the stands and handles is estimated to be about 800 yr old pine. The log was in the swamp in la. it was believed to have been cut in the mid.1800's. It was about 6' dia. I like to have some history behind things sometime. jody
