What is the best way to secure a leg hold trap that is set for coon.
I bought two Duke DP traps for the nuisance coons behind my house, that sometimes come up in my yard and make a mess for me.
One of my traps was taken last night. I have stout electric fence wire and I guess it bound up and he pulled it back and forth on the kink and broke it. I had it doubled wired too and both were broken off.
Should I put a clevace on the end of the chain and attach it loose enough for the chain to rotate freely around the tree that I attach in to? That ought to hold right? I dont want to loose my other trap, them things aint cheep.
