The second tournament of 2012 for the Lanier Crappie Anglers was held this pass Saturday. There were a total of 8 teams that participated and some big sacks were brought to the scale. The first place team scored a winning weight totaling 9.82 pounds. They topped off their sack with a monster 1.85 pound fish. The second place team came to the scales with a total weight of 8.60 pounds. Their big crappie for the day was a 1.81 pound beast but their biggest fish for the event was a 7.12 pound bucketmouth. Getting that fish in on 4 pound test was no small feat. The third place team pulled in 7.85 pounds. Not to be outdone, their kicker fish was a 1.85 pound monster also. Fourth place had 6.22 pounds. Fifth place had 4.77 pounds (1.66 pound big fish). Sixth place had 3.79 pounds. Seventh place had 2.98 pounds. The eighth place team could not make the weigh in so their sack did not qualify. We had teams fishing everywhere from north of the dam to south of Lula and all locations produced fish. If you are not out there, gas up the boat and give it a go. Anyone interested in more information on the club is urged to sit on one of our monthly meetings. We meet at Hammond's Fishing Center in Cumming, GA the last Wednesday of every month at 6:30 PM. Meeting and tournament dates for the club can also be found on the Crappie Club Calendar on the Hammond's Fishing Center Forum. Meetings are open to the public.

Tight lines to all

I just happened to be at Hammonds when you guys were weighing in. I was impressed with the size of the crappie.....and that seven pound bass.

Well done guys.
