Birds #1 and #2

After a 15 years lay off I finally picked the calls back up and gave it a shot this year. So far I've only managed 5 days in the field but feel I've been pretty fortunate. Going to try and get #3 before the season goes out but if it doesn't happen I'm still happy with the way the season has gone.

Killed one in the morning and one late in the afternoon.

Bird #1 18 lbs, 1 5/16 inch spurs, 11 inch beard

Bird #2 was a 2 year old but I couldn't help myself
18.5 lbs, 1 inch spurs, 8 3/4 inch beard

Thanks again guys.

Finally set aside some time this week to try for #3. Shooting for tomorrow....if that fails then Thurs. That'll finish me out either way.

Birds were moving around this morning. Saw 2 different gobblers strutting for hens while checking cotton fields.
