I just completed my first Selfbow. Its a Red oak board bow with a redoak slab as the riser. This took me a while, I went slowly so as to come out with a good shooter. Its specs came out to be #44@27, only one pound off from what I was trying to get, so not bad. I have already shot it before I finished it with stain and poly and it shot really nice. Here are some pics of the riser. I will post some more once everyhting dries and I get the string put back on. I am also in the process of making some wooden arrows for it too. Very nice! I`m checkin` around with some folks to see if I can come up with a piece of leather for you to make a quiver.

Here it is unbraced, and yes theres ALOT of string follow, about 4" worth!

Here is the limb finish, it doesnt look great but better than the bare fiberglass tape you have to back it with for strength, well you can use other stuff but I didnt know that before I made this.
