Fond this out in the woods today. No other bones nearby. About 10 yds from a small creek.

I'm thinking muskrat, maybe?

Nope, scratch that, I stand corrected. I looked up some pics of both beaver and muskrat lower jaw skulls. You are correct, that is a Muskrat lower jaw. The lower teeth are right beside each other on a beaver and separated just like the ones in your pic for a Muskrat.

Beaver lower, teeth not together because lower jaw is in 2 pieces. Just my guesstimate.
