Do any of you guys hunt with a Remington 887 Nitro? If you do do you shoot buck shot or slugs? If so what kind and size do you use? Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks,

Buckshot around a HM/IM should do you fine. Now a aftermarket choke works better but you don't got to have it.

Slugs and buck don't know the difference between an 870, 887, 1100, 1187 or any other model of gun for that matter.

I use a mod choke on both the 1187 and 870.

Most important, what you need to do is get some of what you want to shoot and shoot it. Pattern your gun, learn how it throws the load in question. It will like some things better then others. You just need to find the preferred load.

I like sluggers and brenneke in 2-3/4, do does my gun. 3" sluggers work ok too. At about 75-80y I start to loose accuracy quickly.

Edit@@ I use remmy 3" buckshot, 00. It works great on deer, and when driving, it is all we are allowed to use (by our lease restriction)

You can search the forum for more details on this same subject.

Good luck to ya
