Remington 710 problem

I have a Remington 710 in 30-06 and for a relatively inexpensive gun I am satisfied with its accuracy.

I have a problem. The small plastic piece (yeah, that's right-plastic) that holds the magazine in place has broken. So, I can no longer use the magazine and my gun has become a single shot.

I called Remington and they told me that I have to mail in the entire stock to have it repaired. Has any one heard of this? I would love to find someone (like a gun shop) that has the part and could fix it without sending it in.

Thanks,

Jim

Try Numerich's (e-gunparts.com) or Brownells. They may have the part you need.

This is the Remington parts list for your rifle. This site and Numerichs list a magazine assy. Not sure if the assy has the piece your needing. Look at the 4 parts listed on the REM page and see if one of them is what you need. If not, the part you need is probably not a replaceable part :banginghe .

One more thing...down at the bottom of the REM parts page are 3 items: magazine latch, spring and pin. Maybe that's what you need.
Good luck
