this moring on Outdoor Expeditions; OLN. They were hunting in Ireland, I think.

They spotted this albino Merriam's on a grassy hill and decided to stalk it. Well they just walked right up to within 20 yards and started flinging arrows. At first it would try to move and go about 5 or 10 yards, but after the first 3 arrows it just sat there while they shot at it. The guy shot all his arrows and then had to go retieve them out of the ground to shoot some more. After missing about 8 times he hit the Pitifull bird while standing about 5 yards from it.

If that was me I would not want to show that on Tv, did not look good at all. Looked like they took someones pet domestic turkey and turned it out into the field to shoot it! The anouncer gave an explanation saying the Merriam's don't act like the ones in the states because they have no predators there. I could see that to a degree, actually I did see that "a little' in Nebraska, but this was way way beyond that. Maybe it was sick and dieing, reguardless, I wouldn't of shown it on tv.

Gadget i saw that also. That showed poor marksmanship for the hunter that he could not hit a bird that would not run @ 20 yards and under. They even showed one shot where there is a clod of dirt on the broadhead. I would not have used that arrow, much less expected to hit anything with it. The anti,s probalby will have a field day with that hunt and edit it to potray all turkey bow hunters. I agree that hunt shuld not have been shown. That bird acted like it was not up to its daily survival tactics.

Gadgit, That hunt was in New Zealand in April 2004 and was being filmed by the Buckmaster TV Crew along with several other animals this hunter took with a bow and gun. I know this because I was hunting with the same outfiiter for Red Stags.

I let my disappointment be known with the film crew and hunter as they related the story around the dinner table. I also suggested that they seriously consider not televising the hunt. Of course they informed me it was none of my business!

The worst part was that they left the bird in the field!!

I second that!

This guy and their show gives hunters a bad name; Ammo for Antis for sure.

I might try to complain to someone, just need to figure out who.

I saw this pitiful excuse for a hunting video too.

Sickening. Can't believe they would air such stuff.
