Just got back from a high country pack trip with my father. Managed to catch some big Colorado cutthroats on elk hair caddis and hoppers.

Wow! Great fish. Man, if there are any more beautiful fish than those swimming on this planet, I haven't seen them yet. And a beautiful background setting to match. Now, them two fellers, they ain't quite as purty as the fish or the lake or the mountains.

Ya got me all worked up. Not that I needed help. I am heading out to Colorado for a couple of weeks after Labor Day. I have not been out west for two years and am really needing this trip. Staying with a friend in Buena Vista and will be fishing the Arkansas and Taylor Rivers. Probably will not be finding any Cutthroat, but maybe on a side trip. Thinking about running up to the North Platte "Miracle Mile" in Wyoming before flying home. It is great you got out there with your dad. I am a big fan of the Elk Hair Caddis too and terrestrials in the fall such as Hoppers and ants in tandem.
