I started taking my puppy to the woods last week and had her on a 15 ft leash with a harness. I did not drag her through any thick woods just down some logging roads, fire guards, and other open trails.
She did pretty good for being on a leash for the first time but what made me curious is this.
When we started down a trail or road she would always be behind me stopping to smell the roses etc...
But when I turned around to go back to the truck she would jump ahead of me with her nose to the ground and would try to pull me along. She would do this all the way back to the truck.
Most of the time I would walk a good half mile or so back into the woods so I know she could not see the truck or anything.
Was she trailing our scent back to the truck?
