Phoenix Urban Carp trip thoughts?

This Feb my wife has a conference in Phoenix. I am going to tag along and fish the urban canals and ponds for carp. I have hired a guide for a half day. I asked the guide what flies I should tie for after my half day of guidance.

Here is her list:
glo bugs in various colors (chartreuse, orange, pink, yellow, white, etc). Also have some small buggers and
nymphs, preferably something you can see in the water.

I have never fished go bugs before, what size should I use?

For the buggers, I will tie black, brown, in smaller sizes.#10, #8, and #6. Bead and non bead. Are there some other colors that I should look put together?

For the Nymphs I am thinking prince bead head sizes #12 - #6. The white wings will help this old man see better.

For all you big time carp on the fly guys, what else should I bring?
