Got down to the club on Thursday afternoon. Friday morning found me in a familiar spot with high hopes. One bird sounded off over in the next county a few times and that was it.....................

Went to a strut zone where I'd killed some birds in the past and set up. Around 8am a bird answered me. He was a pretty good ways off but sounded hot. He closed the gap in about 20 minutes. He came in strutting and drumming. Shot him fairly close at 15yds. First bird with the new 20ga and TSS loads. Very impressed.

The rest of the weekend was pretty uneventful.. Wind was horrible every day, very little gobbling.. Called in a trio of jakes and a hen.. No other longbeards wanted to play...

Solid bird. 10.25" beard, longest spur 1.25", and 20lbs.
