I,m in the market for a Winchester model 71 .348 or possibly a repro. Browning 71. I,ve seen several on them on the auction web sites but they're always priced way over blue book. looking for a shooter not a museum piece. any woodyites out there have a handle on one?

Good luck. That is a highly sought after lever gun. I would love to have one as well, but not on my current budget. You may want focus on the Browning repro.

I have one, and love it. The blue book isn't accurate on the prices for them. I found mine on www.leverguns.com, another site that focuses on leverguns. Keep an eye out there and you might find one.

I've looked for one of those that was "blue book "
of below for a long time and i am starting to
belive they don't exist unless you can afford to pay
collectors prices for even a "shooter". Look whats
happend to the Savage mod 99 rifles.
They are rising in price every day. Even old "gray rats"
are over priced.
