Does anyone have any useful information for a first time turkey hunter at the River Bend WMA? I've got a quota hunt April 1st there, but I don't know much about turkey hunting or about that WMA at all.

Get on Google earth and look for likely roosting areas: river bottoms, creeks, cypress ponds etc. Go early one morning and listen to see if any birds are gobbling on the roost. Leave your calls at home. After fly down walk the roads, firebreaks, food patches etc. and look for turkey sign: tracks, droppings, strut marks. Good luck
