Tracking Dog Question.

My wife a I have been talking about getting another dog. I have always loved labs but never had one. I started hunting public land in the mountains last year and have been wondering if it would be possible to train a lab to sit still and quietly next to me for extended periods while I hunt off the ground with out barking or getting excited when game approached. I frequently hunt 2 - 3 miles in so also having the dog trained to track a blood trail would be a huge help as well. I would rather purchase a 1- 2 year old dog already trained rather than go through the puppy stage again. Everything in our house got chewed on by the last pup we raised. I know duck dogs sit next to their owners during a hunt, but not sure if they can do that for extended periods. I hunt solo most of the time so I like the idea of a good companion dog when I am out there alone. Any idea if this is possible, and if so, what would a good trained dog cost?
