i need some bow advice

a friend of a friend has got a hoyt ultra mag fully set up ready to hunt,with 6 arrows and a release.i know what it sells for so i know the price is ok,im just wandering are they reliable bows.does anyone on here have one?how do they stack up against other bows out there.

The ultra mag is one of the Hoyt mid range priced bows. They are cast magnesium as opposed to the machined aluminum risers of the higher priced Hoyts, ie the Ultratec, Vipertec, Vtec, etc. They are a top quality bow, maybe slightly on the slower side by today's standards. They have the same Hoyt quality that is in all of the Hoyts, and they are very good bows.
