Tom carving Part III

OK, the paint is on the bird now and I have begun working on the habitat. I think I am going to have to repaint the secondaries because I am not real happy with the coloring. Needs to be darker. He will end up standing on an 8" diameter round walnut base I have modified for the habitat. I will show all of that once I have the entire piece completed.

Glad you all have enjoyed this little show and tell. Perhaps one day I can do a "carve along" tutorial if anyone is interested. Of course, it would have to be something a little less involved than this tom.;)

OK, I repainted the secondaries

I am happier with then now. I also made the white bars a little wider as they should have been in the first place.

It's kind of funny but I can see mistakes in my own pictures that I fail to see just looking at the bird. I suppose it is because they are larger than life before I resize them.

Thanks again for the encouraging words.:)
