I have a Mini-30 that I've been thinking about sending to ASI for a re-barrel and accurizing job but would like to know if anyone local does any Mini work such as bedding and gas block tuning/replacement and barrel work.

This sounds like a project that I would send off to someone that specializes in Semi Auto work

Sell it, and take the money that you get and buy you an AR15. Out of the box, they will out shoot the pants off any mini 30.
You can get one in the 7.62x39 if you like.
You will be way ahead of the game.

I'm just a big fan of the Mini's and have no real problem with it in the stock configuration but I would like a new toy. I have never had a jam or problem in 1000's of rounds in different mini's even with zero cleaning and I think having one chambered in 6.8spc or .25wssm would be sweet.

deadend,
My eldest son sent a Mini-30 to them for a Complete Package!
He went with the .875" blue barrel,22" long but went with 6.5Grendel.
He paid $749 to get his rifle turned into a outfit that will group 3" at 400yards with 129grain Hornady SST's!
Highly recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's what I'm screamin'! I've talked to several folks with similar or better results and they also raved about the low recoil and brass control. I'd have less in it after the $749 than I would a new stock AR-15 and I'd have a wood stock which I am more than partial to.:shoot:

My DPMS 6.8SPC was $859.00 for a A2-20".
With 110grain V-Max it is super on fox, yotes and ah,larger yotes.
With 115grain Core-Lokt Ultra or 110grain Barnes Triple-X it is a nice whitetail rifle.
With it being just about $300+ cheaper in the end.
And then with just a different upper receiver in 223rem($325-$500) you have whole different critter!
But it all means nothing except what the man behind buttstock whats and likes!

I hadn't considered the Grendel but looking at the ballistics it is a no-brainer over the .25wssm. Hmmmmm!

Can you get this done to a mini 14. The only problem is my wife loves the gun it has a folding stock on it so it is not heavy for her even with a 20 round mag. she keeps it on her side of the bed when I work late so I make a phone call before I come home !!!
