Lake Burton

Well, evidently my password did not work today and my reset option failed as well. Created a new profile. Used the same email as before and it still went thru successfully. Odd for sure!

Anyway, planning a trip in a couple of weeks to Burton. I live in WNC , so i dont get to Burton as often as i once did when living in Franklin NC area. How is the late fall/winter bass fishing these days? It has been at least 5 years since i have been on the lake at all. Anyone care to give a general report that has been lately? I am very familiar with the techniques for spots as i have fished Keowee and Lanier many times. Keowee is actually what i would consider a home lake. I have to drive at least an hour to fish anywhere from where i live. I did not make my trip back in the spring as i saw the lake was already over run with the normal pleasure boaters.

the water is well on it's way down...about 4 feet below summer pool. Last I was on the water two weeks ago, I was having luck with shad and perch imitation crank baits. Creek and main lake points were producing and also caught some over open water chasing bait schools. Water should be in low 50's.

I been trying to find the draw down schedule. Have had no luck.

Ya reckon this means Seed, Rabun and Tugalo won't be drawn down ?

I was at Tugalo the past few weekends. It was down a bit, but the GP website shows Tugalo, Rabun and Seed are all down between 1 and 1.5 ft. I don't think they will draw them on down, but who knows. I hope they do. It concentrates the fish and makes them easier to find.

Glad you got into them! What was your pattern if you don't mind? Yes Sunday turned out gorgeous up there...Sat not so much but apparently the fish were on fire.

Ended up catching them on Drop shot and shaky head. Mostly in brush, 30-35' deep. Did not catch a fish till 11am Sunday. If there is a shallow bite, i did not get on it. Every fish was healthy and solid. Ill be heading back again as soon as the weekend weather permits. Terrible this coming weekend looks like.
