Fishing near a full moon?

What are the good or bad points when fishing close to or at a full moon. I mainly fish the sounds and jettys. Thanks

  • Peak fishing activity
  • good shrimping, when season is open
  • good fishing on near shore reefs
  • access to shallow flats for larger boats
  • High tides
  • swift currents
  • muddy water
  • usually lots of debris in the water
Just a few things I can think of...

I try to avoid any tide differential >7.6 because of what WalkingDead mentioned in his last 3 bullets.

I have a mini skiff so I'm limited to fishing inshore, so I have to do the same. If high is 9.0, it's sketchy for me. When it's that high, I may go about mid-tide heading to low, and hunt for reds at low tide, then fish some of the incoming.
