2023 Zambia Hunt.

48 hours of travel and Im still not home thanks to a delayed QATAR flight, so I’m bored. I spent 10 days hunting the Luangwa Valley in Zambia for Buffalo and plains game. I could have taken animals every day, but trophy fees aren’t cheap. I ended up with a buff, kudu, puku, waterbuck, and zebra. Unfortunately, now I can’t wait to go back. Looks like I’ll soon be starting an Onlyfans account to hopefully pay for another hunt. . All the plains game took 1 200gr Accubond from my 300wsm, and the buff took 3 400gr TSX’s from a .416 Rigby, even though the first shot killed him.

Congrats on a successful safari. Hunting Cape Buffalo can be quite intense. Looks like you took some very quality animals. Thank you for sharing.

AWESOME HUNT !!!

Trip of a lifetime most of us can only dream of.
Heck, I'll be doing good if I can make it to Alaska without getting ripped off. Hopefully before I get to old to make the trek.

CONGRATULATIONS ON SOME FINE ANIMALS !!

Many of those Alaska hunts are getting stupid expensive. You can do a South Africa game preserve hunt and kill 4-5 animals a lot cheaper. Free Range wild Africa is expansive as well though, but not nearly as bad when you think about the number of animals you can take. I’d like to hunt moose in AK, but will most likely take that money and go back to Africa.

The first time we got into Buff was a little too intense. It was super thick, and the herd started getting behind us as they got a little antsy. We had a .416, 458 Lott, 470NE, and a 300wsm with us, and we were still severely under gunned. Having a big cow Cape Buffalo stare me down at 15 yards is something I don’t ever have to do again.

Haha. No, just more big bore rifles. The last thing you want when hunting Buffalo is bullets going all the way through and injuring the Buffalo standing behind the one you meant to shoot.

I’d have to sell a kidney for the taxidermy bills.

How does the meat taste?
Depends. Kudu is my favorite of all meat, even better than beef, we ate all of the kudu. We ate the tenderloin of the buff, and it too was incredible. Waterbuck was donated to the village, as was the rest of the buff and the puku. We ate Zebra as an appetizer one night, and it too was incredible.

There was a family in the town I grew up in that went Safari hunting in Africa. His mounts used to be displayed at the state capital. My grandfather was close to them, and the wife hand wrote a book about the hunts. She gave my grandfather a hand written copy. Stories in the book about how many animals were shot solely as bait. Also stories about donating meat to the villagers. It was a hard read because of the writing style, but the tales were fascinating.
