Plan on being in the Keys the first week of April 2019. Anyone have any advice on a good charter? What will be the primary fish to be targeted during that time, etc???
Thanks!

If you're going to Key West, there's a bunch of good ones at Hurricane Hole. We went with Triple J charters there a couple times. He put us on fish.

Stop in Islamorada and book Chris Barron of stray cat charters for Tarpon. Google him, you will find his name mentioned quite a few times in other forums. I’ve used him on 3 trips now for tarpon and have caught one or more on every trip.
Another great choice is Chris Jones of mudpuppy charters. He does primarily the skiff and skinny water stuff.
Both guys will work hard to put you on fish and are enjoyable to fish with. Book them very early as they will fill up even months before time if you want to pick your days.

Dang, typed all this then saw you wanted offshore. Chris does that as well.

April is the time when you may find a blend of offshore and reef action. It is the transition between summer and winter fishing. Sailfish, Kingfish and Snapper on the reef. Blackfin Tuna on the Islamorada hump and the possibility of Dolphin if you find a color change. This past April we had a good bite of Wahoo just off the reef in 200 =/- feet of water. Your Captain will have the input.
