Another Gopher Tortoise

Seen a couple more today while out briefly cruising the woods, this one was the biggest. They have been very active, and you can see their tracks all over the dirt roads. Pics & video taken with iPad Pro. Video shot at 1080P.








Not sure what's going on with the sound, it was not windy at all when I took the video.

I believe I've seen more of them these last 5 years or so, than I ever have. I also see a lot of their burrows, which is a good sign the population is doing well in this particular area. We've certainly got the perfect habitat for them, here along the coast.

He was a good sized one, and he had those short legs moving right along. Seeing them "run" always puts a smile on my face.
