Maybe it's a good sign that the three of us who've posted so far have dead gobblers in our avatars...

I've never hunted Ft. Stewart for turkeys, i've thought about it but never have. I've always heard it gets crazy in there with people walking in on you, driving all over the place etc. I've hunted Rhetts for years for ducks, every duck hunter should try that once on low tide!

Come on Saturday!

Forgot to ask, but does everyone know how to enter a bird? Just want to make sure before we get started, so there won't be any problems. I know i can't afford to make a mistake if i'm going to be able to contribute to Team 23!

I'm gonna be mostly hunting private land in Grady County. Never limited out but have only been seriously turkey hunting for 2 years and killed 2 both of those years off our place. I should have limited out last year but misjudged the distance on a tom and didn't take a 35 yard shot when I should have! May also try some public land down here this year if I don't have any luck on our private place.

I do have the benefit of being able to hunt pretty much every day of the season, I'm a full time college student and my earliest class is at noon everyday so that should help. Good luck fellas!

I'm here. I can see I need to find my picture. I will be hunting in pierce county. This is my first time hunting in the turkey challenge. I hope I can conribute to the Swamp Rooster's success. Heard a few gobbling this morning. This is my second year really hunting turkey's hard. Was not able to hunt a lot last year. I'm hoping this year I can have more time to get in the woods.
Sounds like some of you guys aren't too far away from blackshear.
Good luck Sat. Hope to hear some great stories on Monday.

I killed these two while filming video for Team Extreme Passion. The video was not good enough to make the final cut, but it was a lot of fun hunting with a group of Christian rednecks from west virginia. The picture of the birds is not that great. We were in the swamp and the birds were wet. Both birds turned out to be two year olds with 9 inch beards and 1 inch spurs. One shot killed both birds. Totally by accident. I didn't know the second bird was even there until i went to get the one I shot and the second one was flopping around about ten yards away. Hope to have more stories this year.
Good luck everyone.

Just so everyone can see it I copied the rules,

#1 -- Picture of hunter, turkey, and newspaper/phone. (make sure we can identify you. Make sure we can see that it’s an adult gobbler. (full fan or make sure we can see the beard in the pic). YOUR FACE MUST BE VISIBLE IN THE PICTURE OF THE HUNTER WITH BIRD. The gobbler must still be intact in the pics. If we receive a pic where it can't be made out that it is an adult gobbler, you will receive points credit for a jake...

#2 -- Close-up picture of the date for verification.

I've been in this the last 3yrs and am glad we are getting this out ahead of time so everyone knows! We'll be clicking on all cylinders when the green flag drops! Almost there, already got my plans laid out! Ready to roll!

Here's my big boy from last year. Didn't win me anything in the challenge but I did win a Beretta 391 with him in another contest . Double beard, 12 inches and 7.5 inches. Spurs were 1 3/8 on both sides.

I changed the title of the thread to have our team name in it by the way. "Swamp Roosters" lets get some!

I just got in from scouting out our place a little bit. I call it scouting, I pulled up to the cabin and there were 14 hens in the front yard...yikes! Saw a big tom strutting with 2 hens off the road just across our property line on my way in so they're there, just gotta get em to cooperate!

Least you know he's there, you may have to wait him out a while but it will be worth it!

I'm going tomorrow to my club doing some last minute scouting trying to make up my mind on where to be first thing Saturday morning. I have never roosted a bird there, tried a handful of times and going to give it another shot tomorrow evening! I'll be sitting on go Saturday morning!

They were tearing it up this morning on my place. Got video of 3 jakes that I'll try to post in a little bit. I ended up seeing 2 gobblers and know of one more that I heard gobble on the ground in another location. Looking good for in the morning!

That's what I'm talking bout!!!!! Way to set the tone Kwak!

I had 3 strutters pitch down in a field on me this morning but didn't pay any attention to me (I wouldn't either when I had ten of the real thing fighting for my attention). I did watch them for 2.5 hours though and think I have a pattern on them for in the morning. They've done the same thing 2 mornings in a row. One is an absolute stud...longest beard I think I've ever seen. Hope I can show y'all some up close pics in the morning. I'm about to go see if I can roost him.

Good deal. That didn't take long. I had a close call myself this afternoon. Had one struttin at 20 yards at 6:40. Two more steps and I woulda had a shot, but he spooked and left. Saw 2 more big toms on the side of the road. Lookin good for tomorrow if the weather holds off.

Good luck, i've never hunted much in the afternoon but i think im going to try it tomorrow. Today would be a good day to set up on a field, I think. My club doesn't have any but we do have a big powerline that runs through it and some food plots im sure they will be in at some point! Good luck this afternoon!

so as i understand it, we have four birds in the record books? Wish I could have added to it. I watched a great tom strut for a hour and a half trying to keeps two jakes from messing with his ten hens. Great show. about five minutes after they walked back in the woods, I heard "boom". Scared me. The guy who owns the property next to our hunting club was hunting on his land and when they stepped across the line he let him have it. Nice bird. 10 1/2 inch beard with 1.5 inch spurs. I have a couple more birds located, so i just hope no one else gets them before I do. I did hear that one of the other toms i had located at another property was shot also. Going to try it in the morning for a little while.

so as i understand it, we have four birds in the record books?
With my 2 and Kwak's 2 we should have 22 points I believe. Go get em fellas!

Here is a link to a video of the first kill from yesterday, y'all may have already seen it but if not I thought my teammates could appreciate it!
