Default Best rifle and round under 400

Savage axis XP in 223 or 22-250
I'm sure there are other nice setups but these have done good for me

Ruger American Predator in .243Winchester. The Ruger American Predator comes threaded for a suppressor, adjustable trigger, and .243 offers a wide range of bullet weights to handle varmints to white tails. In the right hands a .243 is an easy 400yd rifle.

Thompson Center(SW) has a rebate right now. 223,308 243, several others that net under 200$. Or with a vortex scope included under 300$.
Comparable to Savage axis.
