Martin Hunter for sale
I've decided that I like long bows over recurves so I need to sell my Martin Hunter.
Right hand 45# very good condition, bow is two years old and has never been hunted with.
$300.00

Dennis is right. The Hunter probably the longest running unchanged designs in recurve bows. Maybe slight modifications over the years, but pretty much consistant.
There has also been many other brands that have copied that design over the years. I still see a lot of similarities between the Hunter and the Jack Howard JET, and everyone knows what I think about the JETS.
I quess Martin figured "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".
Well worth $300.00

Martin has closed the old Howatt plant as of a day or so ago! They will only offer a few models built overseas from this day forward. No more Hunters, Mambas, Dream Catchers, Hatfields, Savannahs, or many others! A sad time for me.

It should be a concerne to all traditional archers when a major player in the games shuts it down. Martin, as an extension of Damon Howatt, is the last of the long time major producers of traditional bows.

IMO, that is a good price on a fine bow.
I had one that was manufactured in the early '90's.
Quiet for a recurve, nice heavy riser with a deep grip,
good cast and shoots a heavy arrow that hits hard.
Quite handsome too.
3R's wants about twice that price, (with shipping), for a new one.

Damon Howatt Archery has NOT closed it's doors. Martin Archery has decided to put together a brochure of Damon Howatt bows to come out sometime in the near future. My understanding is that the Martin catalog is out, minus the Howatt traditional bows and this is probably what has started this rumor. The 3 remaining traditional bows in the catalog are not Damon Howatt bows, and are not "custom made, one at a time" like the Howatt traditional line.

Hey TradGirl! Thanks for clearing that up! I guess you should know since you are up there in WA.
I attached my pics of my old Howatt, that I was lucky to purchase, I am told it's a 1964. It's a 42#, a bit heavy, but I shoot it when I can.
