Smile #2 for this year, it was an awesome morning!

This morning was awesome, I ran a deer off while going in to my favorite lok-on. I got settled in and the wind was pretty good but swirling some. About 7.30 I heard a deer comeing in from the North and got ready. She came right up under me but I could hear another deer comeing so I waited to see if it was gonna be a nice buck, as he came down the trail I could see it was a young 5 point, so I put my focus back on the doe. She presented me with a 10 yd shot and I shot right over her back. As she hopped off I could see that I actually cut some hair on her back. She looked around for a while then offered me a 15 yd shot. I slowly drew and watched my arrow blow throw her, Double lungs.

She ran at the most 15 yds and got the wobble leg syndrome and then fell over dead. She expired a total of 30-35yds from my stand. I shot her with the same magnus that I shot my other deer with, gonna resharpen it and see if it cant get #3 this afternoon.

The last picture is one from the first shot where I nicked the backstrap!

Thanks everyone for all the comments, it was a great day.

Bucks are really starting to move in our area, so I have been putting together a plan of attack to catch up with one. There have been some bucks seen chaseing some doe's.

Awesome Chase! Way to go. Man, that picture with your recurve sure does look much better than that wheely bow you carried years ago. Just my personal view. Nothing against the compound...Andrea.

Just a little ribbing Andrea. I sure would love to see a picture of you with your first trad kill. I've seen you shoot! You are ready.

Good job Chase. Keep it up.

HEY HEY!!

Congrats on a big doe.

Nothing like a sharp broadhead. She didn't even know she had been nicked the first time!!

Must have been meant to be, as you wouldn't have killed her with the lucky arrow if you hadn't of missed.

Next time use the lucky arrow first.

God Bless,
David B.

Default Brings a tear to your eye....

Seems like just yesterday the boy was borrowing bows and trying out traditional shooting. Now he's whacking big nannies! Makes you so proud, you just have to tear up a little....sniff, sniff... Gotta say, he had great form from the get-go. Hadn't hung around us long enough to learn bad habits! Congrats, Chase.

Thanks Steve, I learned from the best. Dont worry though, ya'll didn't teach me any bad habbits, I picked those darned things up on my own. Mostly consist of target panic and short drawing.
