I figured Ill save em til turkey season is over , then well have a celebration fry , of our win of course!!
Got five big gobblers hangin around my little food plot! Up from 3 two weeks ago. Funny tho not the first hen! Whats up with that? Hope they are looking for love in 2 weeks!!

Im headed to AL for tomorrows opener. Hope to get this monkey off my back. South FL was a wash due to hunters shooting longbeards out of trees and just bumping them left and right. Fun times but I'm being hopeful and maybe I'll draw blood in the am

guys i think we need to enter all mature birds and hopefully have a few bonus points thrown in, to have a shot at this thing. i dont think we need to enter any jakes for sure. what do yall think? i know i wont shoot a jake anyway unless it gets to the end of the season and i havent killed anything. i can usually kill at least one or two birds but the places i hunt you just never know how they are gonna act from year to year...two years ago we couldnt fight the birds off with a stick but last year i had some trouble... i killed one opening day and never killed another one... i hunted several wma's and national forest and i could only get them fired up on my club.... that was the only place i could even get one to gobble.... so hopefully this year will be a good year.. im excited and going to scout some more this weekend

well we went and listened this morning and got to hear 4 or 5 gobbling, that was the first ones of the year for me so that got my blood pumpin.. and i saw a big ole strutter yesterday right on wma boundary so he is huntable , i may go try him out

well we had a pretty good morning but it just didnt come together .... had a couple birds called in , never could see one of them and then had one come from our right side i couldnt see because of a laurel thicket, but my dad had the bead on his head, needed him to take two steps to get a shot, and he wouldnt, he turned and walked off back toward the main road gobbling. we were about to try another strategy when we hear a truck coming with loud pipes, bow up in the road right down below us and shoot out the window..... well we went to eat and then come back cause we heard 4 or 5 more gobbling and the guy had come back after we left..... pretty sure he had come back to collect his "trophy"....... that irritates me to no end, i do not see what anybody gets out of shooting a turkey from your truck window..... anyway, im gonna get after them again tommorrow ... good luck to everybody..... we got some catchin up to do !!!!

Had a GREAT day with my grandson. Had birds all over us but didnt get a shot. Felt honored to see a bearded hen. Had about 6or 8 inches!!!

First one Check before I post
Birds gobbled like crazy on the roost this morning, shut up when they hit the ground. Bout 10 oclock this morning this guy came in quiet as a mouse, saw my dekes and wanted to start a fight, he lost!!
7/8" spurs exactly 10" beard Let me know if the pics are right. Of course I wont post the graphic one!! Rage in the cage.

awesome dobenator!!! i wanna see the video !!...... well guys we just about had 5 more points, we called one in at about 5 oclock this evening and my buddy(an opposing team member) was gonna let me shoot the first bird today (which was very nice of him) well instead of coming in the way we both thought he would, he had other plans and came in above us on the ridge we were on so i had no shot and he had to take the shot or neither one of us would have got him.... awesome hunt though!! i will hopefully be after em some this week and definitely next weekend

I was being greedy opening weekend. I had one dead rights but was waiting for the rest of buddies to get open so I could shoot the biggest and possible double. Ended up let'em get away. Season is young though and Im on plenty of birds.

Well guys I've been after it hard, the birds are justr not doing much. Heard 5 yesterday on the limb and nothing after they hit the ground. Have not heard a single peep today. Not sure whats going on. I will keep after it. Headed back out in a minute until dark.

Well guys, I spent the last three days down at the club and I was skunked. The abosule worst opening week I've ever seen as far as gobbling goes. Over heard a couple birds in three days. Only heard 3 gobbles while birds were on the ground. Only birds that I got withinn gun range were 7 jakes just before lunch today. I will be back after it next week. Just gotta decide where to go.

went for a quick hunt before work this morning to a spot we heard 3 or 4 gobbling last week, and i didnt hear a peep , so i'll be going somewhere else this weekend , i gotta help the father in law move some stuff saturday morning but im planning on hittin the woods as soon as i get done and then huntin all day sunday

Me and Blake are going back to the little food plot in the morning. Nobody has been in there and I know there are at least 3 more birds in that area. Hope to get another for me and a first for Blake!!! he will get the first shot !!!
