"The buck was supposedly killed around Chase City on October 30th on a large tract of land that borders the town limits where hunting is not allowed."

Taken on 10/30/12 by Jim Wilson from near Chase City, VA.

Reported to have a greatest spread of 32-inches.

According to B&C records the typical whitetail with the greatest spread was taken in 1964 from Todd County, KY by C.W. Shelton. The top 5 greatest spreads are 34-4/8, 33, 32-5/8, 32-4/8 and 32-3/8.

Went to grade school a few years in chase city....grew up about thirty miles from there....kerr lake(bugs island) is nearby....typical for big bucks that have wide racks to have little mass from around there....didnt read the story but i know theres alot of dog hunting there.....

I would like to set the record straight. I am the man who killed this buck. My name is Jim Wilson and my #is 434-917-0052 for anyone who would like to know more please call me. It was shot near chase city not in chase city nor was it a large tract of land. It was killed on a family farm of 27 acres and it is a mile or so from the city boarder. It is a legal kill. Thanks for all the positive comments. And I hope everyone has a great hunting season and be safe.
