Need your thoughts

I have a small piece of land in a very residential area. I am getting pics of about 4 does and two bucks on my property. The buck in the photo and another one look to be very healthy but I'm not understanding the size of there antlers. They have very large bases but small antlers. Also they are not growing . I'm thinking a mineral deficiency and genetics. Thanks for your thoughts.

It looks like a typical 1.5 year old Georgia buck except for the unusual bases. Not sure what that is.

That's normal for the bases to look like that early in the season. After they finish growing and they harden up and the velvet comes off it will look more even.

This pic was taken in the last week.

The antlers are still growing. They are almost done. But bone is growing out of the skull through the skin. For it to be enlarged like that is not unusual. That being said by all means put anything out possible mineral wise that increases their nutrition.
