Going to try to get one with open sights. With my 1973 Marlin 336 30-30 sporting a new set of Skinner sights. I put a Skinner Express on it with a .5" brass partridge Skinner front sight.

. I really think that the brass will contrast well in hunting situations.

Sweet Rifle! I took 2 deer last season with my 1976 Marlin 336 30-30. It shoots Winchester Super X 170 grain well. I wish I had the confidence to go iron sights! I put a 4x shotgun scope on mine.

Thanks, I got Winchester Power point 150gr for it and they shoot well. I plan on limiting myself to 75yards and I feel confident at that range. When hunting in the woods it will be what I'm carrying. You would be surprised what you can do with a good peep. 1st time out I shot a 2" group at 75yards off a bag.

I love a good peep sight, had a ghost ring on my shotgun for work and loved it, if something happens to my scope on my 44mag I'll be putting a peep on it

I got this one with my 68' Marlin 336 a couple of years ago. I was using factory iron sights and shot him at about 100yds or so...I have since put on a Skinner Express too. I can't wait to try them out!

Nice buck and picture. You get the 1/2" front sight? That what mine needed.
