Some of these guys look flat rutted out but they're still making and tending scrapes. Horns are hanging tight for now..

Looks like a one eyed buck in the next to last pic. It's a wonder that more don't end up like that from fighting.

Yep, that's a buck that I call Mossyhorns. He hung around for a good bit of last summer and early fall and just recently showed back up with an apparently blind eye that has looked totally dark in dozens of pics. So given that, I was pretty surprised this morning when I noticed several pics of him taken last night that clearly show some light now reflecting from that formerly dark eye. Not as much as the other eye but definitely some...

I'm hoping that maybe he just a bad injury to it and perhaps it has begun to heal up?

Dang, got a messed up ear on the same side. Do you find many sheds in your yard? I rarely find any where I feed at.

Lookin good Echo..........thanks for sharing. Lookin forward to another great thread:cool:

Did Mossyhorns have that eye injury Last season? Just curious cause I see no ill effects on this seasons bone. He's another stud! Wont they many times have antler defects from an injury like that:huh:

Right, I don't think there's any hope for that ear - it's been down for quite a while now.

I've found several sheds. A couple of years back I believe I picked up 5 in the yard including a matching pair of 4-point sides that were laying side by side. Still no signs of them dropping around here yet but it won't be long before they start.

Here's my best shot from last night: Six point stand off

Found my first shed in the yard the other morning - just a long spike but it's a start. Looks like around 90% of the bucks I'm seeing still have both sides.

No, the ear was already flopped last summer but he got that eye injury sometime this fall so only time will tell on whether it affects this year's rack or not.

Good deal Echo!! Hope you are doing well!!

I'm doing fine, OmenHonkey! How about you?

I would say at least a couple of those should have been taken before they shed. :D

Good bucks

You think? :D
Some pretty good ones alright and I'm looking forward to watching many of these bucks develop this coming summer and fall. Could be a couple that will really jump!

Bucks are still keeping a tight grip on their racks.

Well, seems that I gave old Mossyhorns a very fitting name. He earned it when he showed up one evening late last summer with his velvet peeling rack covered in moss - fast forward to last night when he showed up minus one side and the other draped in moss.

I watched him for an hour or so hoping the remaining antler would turn loose but there was no sign of it this morning. So far I have found two sheds in the yard and the drop seems to be picking up steam now.
