Does anyone here involved with either the medical or insurance fields know how long one has to be smoke-free to be considered a non smoker?

I think it doesn't show in your system in 6 weeks.

I was told that by a man who dipped and stopped to get tested for insurance.
6 weeks, he tested as tobacco free

Some of them put a timeframe on it. It will say something like 'Have you used and tobacco products withing the last 3 years?'

I don’t know the answer, nor am I a tobacco user. But if I were, I would lie through my teeth because I would never trust an insurance company and you don’t want tobacco use in your record.

Been told the chewin' backy gets outa the system in 30 days. Least that's what a co-worker let me in on. He didn't have no problem slidin' through his last "check up".

I had to be tobacco free for a whole year in order for my wife to claim me as being tobacco free.
I think the time frame is different for insurance companies.

most of the test are mouth swaps that you can
pass in about 5 days from what I've heard.
