I fished 3 days this week, Monday, Tuesday and today. On Monday the water temps were anywhere from mid to upper 50's and very close to 60 in the backs of the creeks up north. By this morning surface temps were down to 49 in the creek when I launched and 52 when I came off the lake. The crankbait bite wasn't working Monday so I primarily fished the shaky head on docks on the south end and caught good numbers but not much for size. Tuesday I concentrated on rocky points with the crankbait up north and found a few better fish. The crankbait bite still hasn't materialized in full swing yet and it's hit and miss. The best pattern for crankbaits is finding points with wind on them and throwing either a craw or shad colored crank. Today the wind blown rocky points were producing a little better and I was also able to get a few on the shakey head when the wind died down. Here's a few pics from this week. The first pics are from Monday and the custom worm I used for the shaky head on docks. The next pic is a couple nice bass from cranking rocks up north on Tuesday and the last pics are from cranking rocky wind blown points today and the shaky head worm I had success with today. The last pic is some junk I pulled from the mouth of the biggest bass I caught today. I'd say these bass like the color orange right now and that's why I used the tangerine color today with success.
