New boat question plz read!!!

I have a new 25 hp mercury on back of my John boat and it has tilt and trim
I'm trying to figure out what kinda kick up plate I need for it. Can anyone help me and tell me what to get

A cheap manual breakaway jackplate will fit the bill if you're only worried about breakaway.

Your motor should have a breakaway cylinder (valve) on it. But, it may only breakaway at a significant speed/amount of force and this is usually at a force that will cause significant damage to the lower unit but hopefully not the transom. . Most breakaway jackplates will give at about 5ish mph which is a lot less than factory tilt trim.

If you call CMC you can ask them about a blemished plate if you want to save some money. I do this often on expensive items as just yesterday I saved almost $400 on a light bar that was in new condition that was returned during the 30 free return policy.
