Had a great hunt at Blanton Creek. Saw a couple small bucks early the first morning and then had a hot doe and a young 7 pointer walk right under me later on. He was grunting and making clicking sounds - first time I’ve ever heard that vocalization.

I went back to the same spot that afternoon and had two does come through a little after 4:00. About thirty minutes later this guy came walking through on the opposite side. When I saw his bases I knew I couldn’t pass him up.

Narvie (NBN) and his dad had just got done dragging his dad’s buck out and offered to come help. It was much appreciated!

We figured he was an older deer, but were pleasantly surprised when they aged him at 6.5 years old!

I thank the Lord for blessing me with such a fine deer and also Narvie and his dad for the help dragging him out. They’re top notch!

Don't ever forget that clicking sound. It will kill you a bunch of bucks. Most grunt calls will not make that sound.
Nice buck you killed too!

Awesome deer. I love to see guys (and gals) kill mature deer like that.
