Spoof/Spam private messages

I just received a PM. It's very similar to the crap I get on Craigslist, where a month after you list an item, you get a bogus e-mail "Do you still have this?"

I always try to respond to PM, because that's the kind of guy that I am.

Response comes back that member has account set to not receive PM, which is bizarre for someone requesting info.

Name doesn't show up at all in membership list.

Just joined GON according to info on PM -- of course no info on membership list. No way to check other posts. Very handy for a scammer.

So can some one hack the GON PM system?

Forward the suspicious PM to me, Longhunter. I'll try to figure out what's going on.
Thanks, Robert
