Nutting stone maybe?
What was a nutting stone used for ?
I'd say it's natural. But, it would make a perfect spindle cap for a bow drill.
I was thinking that too it’s 2 1/2 inches thick fits in the palm of your hand good
Is the inside of the divot smooth and polished or is it rough?
It seems to be smoother than the rest of the rock
But is it polished smooth or is it still rough inside?
The rock was in a campsite
It was out there for a long time probably after being used but it does seem to be smoother
