Trapping hogs using corn

Is it legal in Georgia to trap hogs using corn, then shoot them in the trap?
Why is it illeagal to hunt hogs over corn? What is the difference

spaceman from what I have heard its ok .you are not hunting you are trapping .theres is a difference,you may need a trapping licence. but all the people I know doesnt bother with a licence. let me know if you catch any and I will pull them for you. I know people that will buy the boars

Thanks Hawg Dawg but I hunt 3 hours from you in Lumpkin Georgia. Do you still want the boars? I have two traps on the lease and we get hogs often.

Spaceman, It is legal to use corn to trap hogs. However, at this time you still need to be 200 yards and out of sight if you are going to hunt near the trap. You can also dispatch the hog in the trap with a firearm. Transporting the hogs while alive is suppose to be illegal. This is due to disease posibly getting into domestic hogs.

I think you will see a change in the law very soon regarding baiting of hogs. The way that I understand it is, it will be allowed in the off-season of deer and turkey. Good Hunting.
