Advice on fishing emergers

The fish in my area of hiwassee river,(chatuge tail), are not taking dries yet, but are taking emergers, now I've keyed in on what emerger to fish, am getting bit a lot, but I can't seem to connect that often, apparently by the time I realize I'm bit I'm too late, so my question is, would it benefit me to rig my emerger as a dropper behind a dry, since I can't really see it, like rigging a nymph dropper, the problem is, when I rig any commercial indicator, they won't take the emerger?

dry drop=success

dry drop with emerger CAN be key to hookups. Give it a go, and you will be much more satisfied. I am the same way and rely heavily on an dry for tracking my fly and reacting to takes that I have trouble seeing without it.
