Planting in Marsh/Swamp

So I have a swamp I have been hunting on some family property for probably 8 to 9 years now. We use to have a good wood duck population, but they seem to decrease every year now due to beavers changing the water levels and health of the swamp. I am about to put in some type of food to try and get more in to stay. What have you guys who plant for ducks, had the best luck with?

Jap millet is the best option if you can't control the water, but for wood ducks try to get sago pondweed started. Another option is smartweed but it is expensive and has to be planted in the spring. Also for wood ducks put up some nesting boxes, helps population out tremendously.

Nap millet in the muddy areas. I am going to be planting my pond in a couple weeks. If this rain keeps up that stuff should grow like wildfire.
