I never eat with my hat on at my Mom's house or at our own dinner table here at home. I mostly wear a hat when I go out and the Wife and I do not go to fancy restaurants. I eat with my hat on in those restaurants that we do visit, I don't see any harm in it..And yes, I was taught at home many years ago to say yes sir and yes M'am, no sir and no m'am..Occasionally here at home in the hot summer I eat with my shirt off, but never away from home..To each his own is the way I see it..

It’s a stupid formality that people convince themselves somehow it’s “good manners” yet it makes absolutely no sense.

If I feel comfortable. I'll do it anywhere. :fine:

The fancy places don't have the signs on the door, "no shirt, no shoes, no service"
