Manipulating Dove Fields

Simply mowing my crops doesn’t seem to bust the seed heads up as much as I would like. What other practices have you guys used to help this out? For example, mowing standing corn, you’re left with a lot of corn on the cob. Then for the corn that does bust off the cob, its whole kernel corn. Would be great to break it down even further to essentially have cracked corn.

So can that silage go right back into the field or does it have to be spit into a container? Would spitting it right back into the field be considered “common agricultural practice”?
