What is it?

Found this in one of my tool boxes where I keep odds and ends. I know it's a hemostat, and before one of you knuckleheads suggest it, no...I did not use it for THAT....

It's very well made and appears expensive. It has a two different sized holes in the clamp end. The little pointy thing in the last photo makes me think it's maybe a fly tying tool, and the pointed end is used to clear the eye of a hook after you put varnish on the threads.

I just spent 30-40 minutes on the internet and found nothing that looks like this hemostat.

Any guesses what it's called and what it was made to do?

Well, since I don't know what it is, I guess I can't discount that possibly. But the two holes don't have any cutting edges...they are blunt. And what would the pointy thing be used for?

Not that I'm an expert but I'd say medical.
To good to be a fly tool. (to me anyway)

Ask your Doctor or Dentist.

Me thinks they would know.

Great, just great....now I don't even want to pick it up to throw it in the trash.

Where the heck along this journey did I manage to acquire embalming forceps?
